Job Description: ReStore Deconstruction Staff
Part time/full time on a project basis, hourly position, $12-14 per hour with benefits including health insurance, vacation and sick leave. Significant evening, weekend and holiday work required. Reports to the ReStore Deconstruction Supervisor.
Responsibilities: Maintain safe conditions for employees and the public. Perform all deconstruction duties including denailing, hand demolition, loading dumpsters, separating construction waste, loading and unloading trucks and having positive interactions with clients. All work is to be done with the goal of maximum reuse or recycling as determined by the deconstruction supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Construction or demolition experience
Experience safely using hand tools and small power tools
Excellent communication skills
Strong commitment to non-profit community mission of the ReStore
Work-style - hard-work ethic, professional, flexible, works well with others
Physically able to lift heavy objects (75 pounds) on a regular and repeated basis; move freely (including twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, etc.) to perform job duties; and operate pallet jack, dolly, forklift and other moving equipment
Reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications:
Good knowledge of value and use of home improvement materials
Bilingual English/Spanish
Good handwriting
Good measuring skills
Truck driving experience
Job Description: Temporary part-time truck helper
Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
$9.25 p/h. Pro-rated benefits.
Reports to the ReStore Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities: Maintain safe conditions for employees and the public. Perform truck helper duties including riding in truck, loading and unloading.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong commitment to non-profit community mission of the ReStore
Work-style - professional, hard-work ethic, flexible, works well with others
Physically able to lift heavy objects (75 pounds) on a regular and repeated basis; move freely (including twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, etc.) to perform job duties; and operate pallet jack, dolly, forklift and other moving equipment
Desired Qualifications:
Successful retail home improvement materials sales and operations experience
Experience in home improvement trade
Good knowledge of value and use of home improvement materials
Bilingual English/Spanish
Computer word processing, spreadsheet and database skills

1. Special Events Staff. Opportunity available all seasons; volunteers contacted when events are scheduled.
Description: Provide staffing and organizational help during special events. Examples of special events include workshops and the ReStore presence at the Western Mass. Home Show.

2. Deconstruction Services. Opportunity available all seasons; volunteers contacted when new project available.
Description: Help remove usable materials from buildings as part of our Deconstruction Team.
Requirements:
- Physically able to lift heavy objects (75 pounds) on a regular, repeated basis, and to move freely (including twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, etc.)
- Home improvement experience a plus
- Dedication to the ReStore mission and the ability to communicate it to others
3. Staff Assistant Extraordinaire. Opportunity available all seasons; Tues.-Sat.
Description: Work alongside ReStore staff. Responsibilities include setting up displays, keeping the store clean, answering the phone and providing excellent customer service.

4. Truck Helper. Opportunity available all seasons; Tues.-Fri.
Description: Ride with the ReStore Driver to pick up or deliver building materials; load and un-load the truck. Ensure safe conditions for employees and the public.

5. Merchandiser. Opportunity available all seasons; volunteers contacted when needed.
Description: Do you enjoy organizing? Help is sometimes needed un-packing and displaying the diverse products we receive at the ReStore. Build beautiful displays, create clear signage, and help us make an easy-shopping environment for our customers!
Requirements:
- Retail experience a plus
- Physically able to lift moderately heavy objects (25 pounds) on a regular, repeated basis, and to move freely
- General computer experience; graphic design experience a plus
- Dedication to the ReStore mission and the ability to communicate it to others
6. Media Maker. Opportunity available all seasons; volunteers contacted when needed.
Description: Do you enjoy working with media such as photography, audio and video? We need you! We have many projects requiring the touch of a creative soul.
Requirements:
- Eye for detail
- Photo equipment (we reimburse for pre-approved supply costs)
- Dedication to the ReStore mission and the ability to communicate it to others
7. Tinkerer's Treat. Opportunity available all seasons.
Description: Perfect for those handy-people who enjoy making useful things out of other things. Value-added projects are those that combine ReStore materials into new and interesting products that could be sold here! For example, would you enjoy making a dressing screen out of folding doors? How about a table out of a bowling alley? The possibilities are endless.

- A creative mind
- Self-sufficient; requiring little supervision
- Dedication to the ReStore mission and ability to communicate it to others
8. Green Thumb. Opportunity available during the growing season.
Description: Work outside! Help beautify the ReStore by landscaping around the buildings and caring for the adopted terrace at the intersection of Albany and St. James Streets.
Requirements:
- Good with plants
- Previous landscape experience a plus
